We hope the following illustrations of our work serve as examples of our what, how, and why. Illustra Impact has partnered with local, regional, national, and international purpose-driven organizations to build sustainable, equitable, thriving communities. While each project is unique, at the core of them all is listening to stakeholders, identifying opportunities to align interests for greater shared value, and serving as a thought partner with organizational leadership as they navigate the change required.
The wild network: Leaders build trust
Founder, Whitney Buchmann, was selected to facilitate a Community Conversation at the WILD Network's 2023 Women in Global Development Leadership Forum. She focused on the actions that build trust and why trust is critical to inclusive leadership and authentic community engagement.
Faith in action: Large Grant Commission
Illustra Impact served as a strategic thought partner with Faith in Action's External Affairs team and the lead on convening the Large Grant Commission. It was an inclusive, democratic, and transparent process for the organization's diverse stakeholders to make recommendations about how to invest $25M in its mission.
CHCS: The Road to accountability
Illustra Impact contributed to, and participated in a national panel to share best practices for strengthening community partnerships. Health systems increasingly recognize the value of fostering health system and community partnerships that are built on trust, meaningful relationships, and community ownership. This is particularly critical for communities of color, where members historically have not had a voice in health care decision-making. View the full webinar resource page.
Illustra Impact consulted with Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers to facilitate a community vision that would build on a 10 year investment in collective impact from Campbell Soup Foundation. We continue to consult in standing up the governance structure, convening, and driving the direction of the resulting initiative.
Those Coffee People: impact project
In September 2022, Illustra Impact traveled to the barrio of La Sierra in the mountains of Medellin, Colombia with Those Coffee People. We got to meet the coffee producers, learn about their unique fermentation process, and hear about the impact that Proyecto Renacer has had on the farming community as they reclaim their land after violent conflicts. Now, Illustra Impact is collaborating with Those Coffee People to grow their impact partnerships.
